Bee Removal from Walls
in Gauteng

Bees entering a gap in your brickwork? We assess the nest, explain how we'll reach the colony and agree on any opening needed before work begins

Bees Nesting Inside a Wall

Many of our wall removals involve bees entering through air bricks or gaps where pipes pass through a wall. We also regularly deal with colonies in wall pillars, boundary walls and enclosed spaces beneath baths.

Every job is different. A small entrance can lead to a much larger nesting space. The longer bees have been established, the larger the colony may be and the further the honeycomb may extend into the cavity.

We help homeowners, businesses and body corporates across Gauteng with bee removal and relocation. Wall removals involve reaching the nest and accessible honeycomb within the structure. You can see examples of this work in our bee removal gallery.

Wall Bee Removal Prices

Removals from accessible air bricks and small wall cavities start from R1,500. Your quote depends on the colony's size and height, the depth of the cavity and the work needed to reach it.

A small entrance does not necessarily mean a small job. We quote individually for deep or difficult-to-reach colonies and extensive wall openings. See our bee removal pricing guide for more detail.

How the Nesting Location Affects Access

Air Bricks and Pipe Openings

These are common entrances on the jobs we attend, but the nest is not always directly behind the opening. We assess where the colony sits before deciding whether the existing opening is enough or nearby bricks need to be removed. Our air brick bee removal page explains access through vents in more detail.

Wall Pillars and Boundary Walls

For colonies inside pillars and boundary walls, we assess which side gives us the best route to the nest. If that involves a neighbouring property or communal area, we explain the access needed so you can arrange permission before the appointment.

Enclosed Spaces Beneath Baths

We also find colonies beneath baths, where access depends on the surrounding panels, brickwork and finishes. Tell us where the bees are entering and send a photograph of the area. We discuss what needs to be opened before starting.

What Happens During the Removal

Assessing the Nest

Experience with these removals helps us judge where the bees are nesting and how well established the colony is likely to be. Tell us how long you have noticed the activity and send a photograph of the entrance. We may need an on-site inspection where the position or access is unclear.

Agreeing on Access

In our experience, removing two or three bricks is usually enough to reach a wall colony. That is a typical opening, not a fixed limit: a larger or deeper nest may need more access. We explain the proposed opening and what the quote covers before proceeding.

Removing the Bees and Honeycomb

Once the nest is accessible, we remove the bees and honeycomb we can reach, aiming to relocate the colony wherever possible. If comb remains deeper in the cavity, we explain what additional access would be needed to remove it.

Planning Wall Repairs

We specialise in bee removal and leave repairs to your chosen builder or contractor. You arrange the replacement of bricks or air bricks, plastering, painting and any other finishing work. We explain the expected repair needs before you book.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can You Remove the Colony Without Opening the Wall?

Sometimes, if an existing opening gives us enough room to reach the colony and comb. We assess this before recommending any work to the wall.

Can I Trap the Bees by Blocking the Entrance?

Blocking the hole does not remove the colony or honeycomb inside. On jobs we attend, bees often find another opening. Tell us if an entrance has already been blocked so we can take that into account when assessing the nest.

Will Burning Something Outside Smoke Them Out?

Customers sometimes ask whether smoke outside the entrance will get rid of the bees. It is not a reliable way to remove an established wall colony and does not remove the honeycomb. Our work focuses on reaching the nest and removing the bees and comb, rather than trying to drive them out from outside.

How Long Does Wall Bee Removal Take?

The time includes gaining access as well as removing the colony and comb. A nest behind substantial brickwork can take longer to reach than one behind an accessible vent. We estimate the duration once we understand the job.

What If the Wall Has Tiles or a Decorative Finish?

Include a photograph of the finish with your enquiry. Opening the wall may disturb tiles, plaster or paint, and matching materials may be difficult to source. We discuss the likely impact with you before starting so you can plan repairs with your contractor.
